In the wake of rapid advancements in technology and digital transformation, our understanding of the world has evolved drastically. The nexus of 3D Modelling and Digital Twins forms an integral part of this digital revolution, heralding a new era of possibilities in a multitude of sectors, ranging from resource management to smart cities.
Recognizing the immense potential, numerous national-scale projects or initiatives have already been undertaken across the globe, highlighting the current momentum and importance of these technologies. Despite this progress, there remains a vast expanse of untapped opportunities and challenges that need addressing to leverage the full potential of these digital solutions.
Modelling the changing world has been the challenge of the geospatial society for years. ISPRS initiated the workshop series on 'Dynamic and Multi-dimensional Geographic Information System (DMGIS)' in 1997 and 8 workshops with this name have been organized in different places of the world since then. To enhance the study of dynamic and multi-dimensional modelling of the real world and its application in Digital Twins, we are organizing the joint event of 2023 International Workshop on National 3D Mapping (N3DM) and 2023 International Workshop on Dynamic and Multi-dimensional Geospatial Information Simulating (DMGIS2023), to bring together researchers, practitioners, industry experts, and thought leaders from around the globe to discuss, share, and explore the latest developments and innovations in the fields. The workshop aims to spark stimulating discussions on various hot topics related to these fields, providing a platform for sharing cutting-edge research, exchanging ideas, fostering collaboration, and envisioning the future of these technologies.
The event is organized by the National Geomatics Center of China, hosted by Southwest Jiaotong University, and supported by the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture and the Chinese Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography. It is co-sponsored by ISPRS TC IV and other related organizations.
